Family Reunification Therapy

Evolutions Mental Health and Wellness

Whether you’re navigating unexpected and complex changes after starting a family of your own. Maybe you are blending a non-traditional family, and navigating the complexities of everyone’s new roles or need support as you attempt to center the needs of your child while in the midst of a divorce, and navigating your own challenges through the transition, we can help.

If you’re struggling with reunification after significant absence due to work, separation, or divorce and trying to reconnect while also establishing appropriate boundaries, you’re not alone. Parenting comes with varied challenges at different stages and this is usually the time when you hit a wall when it comes to establishing boundaries, rules, respect, and communication. Separation can complicate this. You need mediation and support with healing and rebuilding and we can support you.

Maybe you’re attempting to navigate co-parenting together, but can’t seem to get your individual parenting approaches aligned. It’s possible to get on the same page, establish clear and healthy boundaries, resolve conflict and create a unified front, all while managing the complex realities of co-parenting. I’ll show you how to strengthen your communication and your partnership, reduce conflict, and find a sense of balance in your family structure—without sacrificing your individual needs, your relationship, or the peace in your home.

HOW WE CAN HELP

When working with family units, the goal for our work together is a restoration of peace and reconnection for the family. We take a multi-generational systems approach to identify cycles of communication, attachment, and conflict resolution because these matter. We take a culturally competent approach in exploring family hierarchies and identify what is working for the family. We identify the roles that each member plays and find the pain points in your relationships. We work with families on communication repair and boundary establishment amidst reconnection and validation, and offer a space where all members are heard.

We identify behaviors and communication deficits that are negatively impacting the family unit and develop a resolution plan that benefits the unit as a whole while focusing intently on strengthening the bonds within. Through our work together, we address the real pain and impact of separation, other pain points, and take an emotionally focused, attachment-based approach while infusing cognitive behavioral therapeutic coping skills to help the unit adjust to change. We focus on healthy communication skills, bond development, and conflict resolution within our treatment plans to leave families with options for navigating multiple personalities and needs within the unit. The changes implemented not only benefit the family unit’s goal of restoration and reconnection, but it also establish important foundational practices for generations to follow.
