Why I Do This Work

Collaborative Healing. Safety. Connection. Community
As a Black therapist in Garland TX provider, this work and the lives I connect with are especially important to me. I do this work because I believe in the power of therapy. It saved my life and led me here. I know exactly how it feels to carry trauma and struggle to survive while still having to function like everything is fine. I was walking around, lost, overwhelmed, anxious, and completely disconnected from myself. My identity was wrapped up in the expectations of others, but through my own journey with therapy, I started to find a sense of safety, and it helped me make sense of my experiences and reclaim my story and my identity. I knew that I wanted to help others reclaim their lives, feel the softness and safety of love, and come home to themselves, even if for the first time.

how I work

what to expect from a
Black therapist in Garland, TX

Healing can only happen when we feel safe and can trust the person guiding our care.

Through proven, intentional, trauma-informed care, I provided a culturally inclusive, safe space where every client feels seen and heard in ways they haven't before. I do this work in a casual, relaxed environment that allows my clients to feel safe enough to disarm and unfold over time. This is a come-as-you-are kind of space.

As a Black Therapist in Garland, TX, I believe everyone deserves access to culturally centered care. I welcome in clients who are where I once was, searching for a therapist of color, hoping to be seen and embraced fully. My approach is collaborative and inclusive, so you don't have to mask or code-switch, and I provide a space where my clients are free to be themselves, explore their inner truths, and release the guilt and shame that have kept them isolated and trapped.

I'm here to support your safety and help you free yourself from negative patterns that keep you stuck in cycles of pain and suffering that threaten your relationships. You deserve a space that feels safe, grounded, and built around your healing, and that's exactly what I provide.
beyond the therapy room

a little about me

Black Therapist Garland TX

I'm a happily in love, married wife to my husband and best friend, Brandon, and mom to my son, Jalen. I also have 2 fur babies, Cookie and Rocko. As a happily married therapist in love with my spouse, I feel that this and overall balance are important components of the couples therapy work I do.

When I'm not in the therapy room, you might find me at a concert, boarding a plane with my passport in hand, curled up with a book, or on the couch bingeing a series with my honey. I'm a true music lover, and at least 1 concert a quarter is an absolute necessity for my mental wellness! I moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2018 after my friend at the time (now my husband) and I fell in love. I grew up in Tampa, Florida, as the daughter of a minister and a true daddy's girl.

I found myself on a journey of deconstruction and decolonization of my spiritual experience. That led me into tarot readings, which I've been doing since 2015, and ultimately back to school to become a licensed therapist. In an effort to decolonize the therapeutic space, I offer ethical tarot readings as an additional service upon request for my clients.
