FAQs

Evolutions Mental Health and Wellness

What's the process for therapy and what can I expect?

We make getting started with therapy simple!

1. Book a free 15-minute consultation

During the consultation, you will have an opportunity to share insights into the problem you’re facing and your hopes for therapy. Also, during that time, you are free to ask questions about treatment and the process, and to share what you hope to achieve through counseling. We will also discuss scheduling availability and options during the consultation.

2. Complete new client paperwork

After your consultation, you will need to complete new client paperwork and provide payment details to confirm your intake appointment. Your paperwork must be complete before your appointment can be confirmed.

3. Complete intake session

During your intake appointment, we will go over historical information, the problem you identified during the consultation, and its impact on your life.

In subsequent sessions,  we will begin the collaborative development of a treatment plan and establish goals for our work together that best align with your desired outcome.

What models do you use for therapy?

Candace has specialized clinical training and licensure as a marriage and family therapist, and graduated with distinction in this specialty. She knows that every client has differing needs and approaches that work for them. From there, she may infuse Attachment-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Gottman method, Racial Trauma therapy from the Kniffley Racial Trauma Approach, Narrative Therapy, or trauma-informed approaches, depending on the client’s needs and goals.

What types of clients do you primarily serve?

We serve clients who have trauma, anxiety, identity issues, estrangement, couples seeking reconnection after betrayal and loss, and pre-marital couples, families, and those seeking co-parenting support.
